Penis Elegy

Like a theatrical chocolate box with the card missing, you just have to dive in. It might be a caramelo it might be ginger, but at the end of the day it's all chocolate… from 6pm to 10pm every night in the studio space upstairs, we have a revolving cast of shows, in a relaxed, loungey bar setting (yes, we have a bar UPSTAIRS). Five bucks gets you in anytime, and you can stay as long as you like (koha on exit).

Gloryholes, drag queens, marriage equality, saunas, safe sex, polyamory, gender fluidity, pride parades, monogamy, coming out, cruising. In 2017, gay male culture has become widely accepted, but in what form? In PENIS ELEGY, playwright Nathan Joe blends monologues, poetry and live music to create a song cycle to celebrate and dissect homosexual desire today. Queer studies meets rock and roll. Featuring music performed by Drive by Faders.

Presented as part of Auckland Fringe festival from 21st February - 12th March 2017. For the full programme visit www.aucklandfringe.co.nz
